Walking Routes

Shopping Walk

You can mix business and pleasure when starting your walk from the free viewing platform of the Verkkokauppa Shop located at Länsisatama terminal. Then you can come by the Forum Box gallery and continue your journey towards Punavuori neighborhood where you will not only see the Sinebrychoff Museum but also have chance to do some shopping at designer boutiques.

At the end, you can visit a few shopping centers like ‘Stockmann’, ‘Kluuvi’ or ‘Marks & Spencer’ and don’t forget about the brand stores on Aleksanterinkatu and Esplanadi streets. Have a lunch at ‘Harald’, a real Viking restaurant, and check out the Moomin Shop for souvenirs. We wish you a pleasant shopping trip!

Maritime Helsinki

Strolling from Market Square to the old market building and further on down to the shoreline, you will have a stunning view of the coast, city and fortress of Suomenlinna. Walking down the coastline you will reach the most popular park called ‘Kaivopuisto’ where you can take a ride on a boat to the Uunisaari Island. When you’re back from the boat ride, we suggest another walk towards Hernesaari peninsula where you will have the opportunity to rest on a comfortable recliner watching ferryboats, yachts and various ships afloat. You can make your way back to the center of the city through the old Ullanlinna neighborhood enjoying its marvelous architecture.

All in One Day

Start from Market Square where you will enjoy the view of Uspenski Cathedral. Senate Square is located in the vicinity, right behind a group of low-rise buildings. From there, walking down the Aleksanterinkatu street you will reach Stockmann and then cross the City Käyttävä bringing you to the railway station. There is the Finnish National Theatre and the Ateneum museum on the railway station square and the Kiasma museum is also located not far from there. Another great showplace is the famous church in the rock named ‘Temppeliaukio’. Walk across Narikkatori Square to reach it. Most eager tourists can prolong their walk to the Sibelius Monument. Have a lovely walk and unfgorgettable memories!
